Dear participant,
thank you for taking part in this survey. Your contribution supports academic research on consumer attitudes toward new payment technologies in Germany.
This survey examines the extent to which consumers accept Facial Recognition Payment (FRP) as a checkout method in German supermarkets.
Please read the short description and see the video below before answering the questions.
Facial Recognition Payment (FRP) is a checkout method in which a customer's face is used to authenticate and complete a payment.
To use FRP, a customer registers once in advance: a photo of their face is taken and linked to a payment method (e.g. a bank card). This facial data is stored by the payment provider.
At the checkout, a camera captures the customer's face and compares it to the stored profile. If it matches, the payment is processed automatically without a card, smartphone, or PIN.
FRP is currently unavailable in German supermarkets. For the following questions, please imagine that FRP were available at the supermarket where you usually shop, and answer based on that scenario.
This survey takes 6-8 minutes approximately.
Please answer honestly, every answer is useful to me.
Once again, thank you so much!
